community

The community spirit is necessary in the present times to provide a sense of belonging to every individual.Life is interesting because of the uniqueness of the moment.Fluidity, flexibility, change, team spirit and compassion seperate a good community from an uninteresting one.Children, women, youth, the invalid and the indigent are the priority of today!Without a sense of cohesion and dialogue it is not possible to build a healthy and happy life.
People must realize that they are the masters of destiny!Love and nurture are the key building blocks.Unlocking the heart enables a person to be a contributor.Education is roughing it out on the streets and doing what one enjoys without comparison. There is good in very person and  only appreciation is required.
Since the times are mysterious and unpredictable it is pointless to anticipate and plan.Good associations give life a universal dimension!

literature

Power, lust, success and boredom are the themes of fiction today. The publishing industry has gone to the dogs because of lack lustre writing. The big screen is killing the creative instinct in the people.
The social media gives ample scope to geniuses in the making! The reality is much more mysterious and bizarre to be explained in words. It has be explored, experienced and felt before it can make sense.
Wrires have to be more than armchair pedants to feel the different dimensions of life.Relativity, empathy, caring and bonhomie give the right feel to writing.

a hair raising adventure

Rama asked Asim to 'tick the tock'.Asim ran to the toilet to wet his panties. He returned with a tooth brush and a razor.Ram was amazed and asked him to wait till she got a pillow cover.Asim inserted a blade in the razor and smashed it against the wall.Rama jumped excited and collapsed in a heap. Before both of them realized,it started raining in torrents. Both were fully drenched but manged to jump out of the window.Asim tool Rama by her hair and brought her to her senses.Suddenly the lights went out and the moon appeared in the background.
Asim took out a bottle of wine, uncorked it and wildly sprayed it all over Rama.

slippers

Shoes needlessly create a perception of right and left.Wearing slippers gives a feeling of casuality, leisure and relaxation.
Slippers are inexpensive and  user-friendly.Women wear slippers to heighten their imaginative and intuitive capacities.
Slippers offer scope for multi-tasking and creativity and can be designed in different shapes and colours to suit each individual.

remove the blinkers

The blinkers everywhere are creating a psychedelic effect,as a result psychotic tendencies are rising.
Cyclists and pedestrians are unaffected by blinkers because they tend to avoid busy streets.Cycling and walking is the safest and inexpensive mode of transport as well as the healthiest.
The Mayor of London must be congratulated on his bold initiative to increase the cycling lanes in London.
To avoid getting affected by blinkers it is necessary to communicate more with the people who dont use motorised transport and are the most level headed people around.

games people play

Everyone is into playing games, mostly the women. Most of the women in the world are confused and dont  know the breast from the cunt.Playing weird games is their sole occupation from morning to evening. As a result everybody is confused and unable to think straight.
Jack-Hi!
Jill-are u married?
Jack-no.why?
Jill-just like that!
Jack-and you?
Jill-no!
Jack-I am from London.
Jill-Brussels!

the child

a child is always happy
a child never gives up
a child has implicit faith in his mother
a child immediately stops crying
a child is innocent
a child is curious
bring out the child in you!

the team spirit

The 1983 world cup final at Lords  is the saga of triumph of the team spirit and is written in letters of gold!Perseverance, determination, faith and leadership on the part of a few individuals can raise the hopes of an entire people.India, led by Kapil Dev had started as underdogs and England and West Indies were the favourites to win. After a few lucky breaks India managed to reach the finals against the formidable W.Indian team which had such veterans as Lloyd,Richards,Greenidge,Marshall and Roberts.
India were bundled out for a paltry 183 bruns unable to cope with the fiery pace of Roberts,Holdings and Marshall. The W.Indians were jubiliant and sure of victory.Runs were coming at a brisk pace and it was only a matter of time before the target would be reached.
Despite the fierce Indian onslaught,Team India's morale was still intact and the turning point came when Kapil ran a 50 yards sprint to take a spectacular catch to dismiss Vivian Richards.Suddenly the tables were turned and the mighjty W.Indian team collapsed like a pack of cards to give India its first world cup victory!

observation

The art of observation requires finesse, passion, empathy and sensitivity. To observe is to remain cheerful, youthful and creative.Right associations are an integral part of 'observing'.
People, children, animals, trees, flowers and homes can provide important clues to a happier and healthier life.
An observant person is never biased, prejudiced or self-righteous and is always open to new ideas and relationships.
Observation enables us to be sympathetic, kind, active and considerate and in the process strengthens our bonds with others.

sign language

Sign language is used to communicate with the deaf and the mute.It involves the use of eyes, lips, hands, fingers, dress and colour. Since the deaf have keen powers of observation they are able to relate better to the speaker than normal people. The speaker uses his emotional and imaginative capacities to transmit her views and ideas to the listener.
Sign language is still at a nascent stage and requires lot of ingenuity and creativity fro its improvement.
Eventually sign language will be able to overcome barriers of language, race, culture and region and help in building closer bonds between people.

feminism -mind games

Unfortunately for various reasons, women from the affluent strata of society have become a stumbling block to progress. In subtle ways, they are influencing decision making which is detrimental to the safety of the earth.
They are encouraging the 'use and throw' culture and blaming the men for the consequent fall out.In their quest for success and popularity, they have willingly sacrificed their natural qualities of caring and nurture.
Modern education instead of emancipating women has in fact made them slaves to consumerism and a comfort seeking life.Instead of trying to be decent and straightforward they have devised the concept of 'feminism' to destroy individuality, courage, valour and manhood.
It is these weird women who are behind AI,test tube babies, cosmetic surgery, single parenting, education for sex, lesbianism, credit cards and many other fairy tale concepts.Due to the machinations of this small but influential segment of misguided women,it has become increasingly difficult to have normal relationships and family life with serious long term effects for the entire society.
It is now time to put in checks and balances in the larger interest.Till such time, women show a greater sense of social responsibility, restrictions should be imposed on their mobility and a close watch be kept on their movements. As far as possible, women should not be asked to engage in commercial transactions and their role be confined to domestic duties or in traditional areas like agriculture, animal husbandry, garment industry, nursing and other cottage industries.

mary kom-the boxer

The story of Mary Kom is talk of grit, determination and heroism in the face of overwhelming odds.Born in Manipur in an ordinary family and  with little opportunities,Mary had a talent for sports and athletics.Lacking the necessary support and resources, she had to use all her ingenuity to be able to make a career in athletics.
With great difficulty, she managed to join the national Institute of Sports,Patiala to become a boxer. At that time Women's boxing was at a very nascent stage in India and there were only men coaches who were not very sympathetic to women boxers. It was an uphill struggle for Mary to convince the powers that be that she was indeed world class material. After winning the Nationals, she got an opportunity to compete in the Asian Games in Incheon, where she won gold medals.
Overnight she became a celebrity and was sent abroad for coaching to be able to compete in the Olympics and other international events. As luck would have it,she got married and gave birth to 2 children, which almost ruined her career. She was forced to take a break to be able to look after the infants.
After a gap of 7 years, she again bounced back with renewed vigour and regained the lost ground soon.In the 2012 Lond
on Olympics, she managed to won a silver medal in her event.

an open society

Many individuals suffer from a fear of people. This feeling arises from a sense of insecurity and lack of self-confidence.People who are extremely self-conscious are prone to this malady.Eventually it leads to alienation and an exaggerated sense of self-importance with disastrous consequences.
A well-adjusted individual always likes to meet people without fear or inhibitions.Without people-to-people contact on aregular basis,a community invariably becomes a 'dreamland' with unrealistic notions.
For a community to be healthy,it is extremely important for people to be open, friendly and helpful.More than affluence, a strong social fabric is essential for the well-being of the community.

empathy

One of the reasons for the rise in abnormalities everywhere is an increasing tendency to be self-centred.People are forgetting that 'no man is an island' and in the process becoming de-humanized -emotionless creatures.
Empathy is the ability to relate to another's emotional needs-pain,sorrow,sadness,depression and unhappiness.Undoubtedly it leads to much distress for the person who is considerate but eventually it makes him stronger and aware.
In the present times,it has become extremely difficult to sustain relationships because people have forgotten the 'art of living' and accepted unhappiness and conflict to be a part of life.Such a situation is responsible for most of the social problems in the world today.Sharing, communicating, kindness and cheerfulness are absolutely vital ingredients of a happy balanced life.

the face

The face is the aspect which attracts attention at once. The forehead, eyes, nose, lips, cheeks, ears and eyebrows are the most fascinating features.A well adjusted personality has a sparkling forehead.Wearing specs gives an artificial look while a steady and open gaze is an indication of a friendly and open nature.A lively person always has a smile on his face which has a magnetic effect. The nose is generally proportionate to the other features and generally magnifies the other features.A sensitive and care free person generally has extremely symmetrical features and an aura of well being which prevents mishaps.A purposeful and disciplined person has soft lips which adds lustre to the face.A glowing hairdo indicates balance and harmony in the personality.

memories

"God gave man memory so that he may have roses in December'
As a person grows older through hard times,he learns to fall back on memories of people who have provided him with love, affection, encouragement and support in his endeavours. His journeys to different places also comprise a part of his consciousness with vivid colours and seasons.
Memories are an integral part of growing up and help to sustain us during periods of conflict and struggle.Invariably, though we may never meet our well-wishers and friends again, they will always be around in one form or another.
Writing about our relationships strengthens our bonds with the people concerned and enriches our creative faculties. When we share our bitter sweet memories,it provides a great support to our mentors and friends.
An optimist always erases the unpleasantness he may have experienced and retains the goodness and kindness of people.

the cow-symbol of purity

In India, the cow has traditionally been considered as a symbol of motherhood.Right from ancient times, the cow has been an integral part of Indian culture.
Vashishtha, one of the ancient Rishis posessed a cow,Kamdhenu, who was considered with magical powers.Once Vishwamitra, another Rishi, came to meet Vashishtha unannnounced with a large number of disciples and insisted on being fged along with his disciples.Vashishtha prayed to Kamadhenu, and lo and behold, a wide variety of tasty dishes appeared from her mouth to feed everybody present.Vishwamitra wanted to covet the cow and directed the followers to forcibly take the cow.
At Vashishtha's request, the cow produced a large army to defend herself and Vishwamitra was forced to return empthy handed.
Cow milk is considered to be good for infants and invalids.Cow manure is also used as fuel and manure for the farms.

importance of home makers

In a society dazzled by the false glitter of material success,it is not surprising that the contribution of home makers is given little importance.A happy home is the basis of a good community life and in India, the woman has traditionally been the home  maker. In nuclear and single parent families, the family bonds have considerably weakened and the children left to their own devices because of the absence of a parent.
Unless  either of the parents decides to play the home maker,it is advisable not to have children.During their formative years, every child needs the presence of a mature  and responsible adult.
In a significant judgment,The Supreme Court of India has held that homemakers are entitled  to the same compensation as those  whose services have a monetary value.
Society must realize  that children are the future and without a child secure environment,it is impossible to progress.

kitchen gardening

Due to the rising prices of vegetables, many housewives and small farmers in N.India are taking to kitchen gardening and growing tomatoes, spring onions, green chillies, corriander, brussel sprouts, carrots and broccoli in pots and small plots of land.
Kitchen gardening can not only meet the food requirements of the household but also help to create an awareness about the environment.Growing vegetables and flowers helps to create a sense of well being in the community.

sense of proportion

The word proportion is missing in the discourse today!
Without a 'sense of proportion' the best recipes can be ruined.Incongruities can be good for mathematics but disastrous for life.Without food, clothing, shelter, jobs, relationships and education, a person can only spell trouble.
A good community always strives for proportion in everything.Excesses cause disease, crime and discord for everybody. To imagine that there can be a single formula for happiness is to invite conflict.
A reasonable amount of comfort along with the necessities makes a person strong, disciplined and useful to a community and a person given to excesses makes a mess of evrything.
Communities which give excessive importance to material comforts ultimately weaken and are taken over by fanatics and uncivilized armies while communities which value relationships, culture and discipline prevail.

baji prabhou-the lion of deccan

Shivaji, the Emperor of Deccan was in retreat strongly pursued by a larger contingent of Mughal armies comprising of Pathans,Rajputs and Moguls.
Shivaji and his small band of loyal Maraths reached a narrow gorge in the mountains.Realizing that a direct confrontation with the enemy would be suicide,Baji Prabhou,Shivaji's general offered to hold the gorge while the rest of the group proceeded to the capital Raigad and returned with a larger army.
Baji Prabhou and his 50 men held the gorge for several hours against the vast Mogul armies till he heard the canon shots from Raigad that help was on the way. When Shivaji and his soldiers reached the gorge, they found that all the Marathas had perished but had succeeded in driving the enemy.

the peacock

The peacock is the symbol of the victory of the forces over truth over falsehood! it is endowed with elegance, beauty, strength and grace. The presence of peacocks in abundance indicates possibilities of harmony, peace, prosperity and progress.
Peacocks are normally found in the tropics and places with lot of rainfall.

arabian nights

Once upon a time King Abdulla ruled over Arabia. He was a drunkard and a debauche with a harem of 5000 wives from all over the world.Arabia was an enormously wealthy country due to the demand for its oil.The people of Arabia were lazy and extremely scared of the king Beheadings and lashes were the common forms of punishments. The women were confined to the house and only intended for producing children.
King Abdulla dreamt of a world empire on the might of his enormous wealth. He started a school where children were brainwashed and then sent to different parts of the world with enormous money to start similiar schools everywhere. He wanted to make the whole world like Arabia and control the entire oil of the world.
Gradually his schools became extremely popular and the alumni became prime ministers and presidents of different countries and started promoting the sale of oil everywhere.Soon the women and children in the poorer countries were forced into prostitution or sent to Arabia for satisfying the appetites of the king and his ministers.
King Abdulla also recruited mercenaries in different countries to spread terror and hatred.
All over the world the skys started becoming grey, fishes and birds started dying due to the excessive use of oil.People became weak and suffered from numerous illnesses. The babies suffered from congenital defects which impaired them for life.Soon the world became an 'Arabian night'.

the outcaste

An outcaste is a person in search of a sense of belonging in a hostile world.Since every community refuses to accept him because of his abnormalities,he is forced to run from pillar to post for his survival.Lacking siufficient resources,he is entirely dependent on alms from others. His entire life is a continuous struggle against poverty, hungermhomelessness, violence and injustices. His only strength is an inborn conviction that there are others like him which encourages him to carry on regardless.

pearls

the tribals

The tribals comprise almost 10% of India's population and have been the worst casualties since independence.Dependent mainly on the forests for their survival, they have been forced into slavery, prostitution, child labour and extremist activities.
Due to their inability to adapt themselves to the rest of society because of their indigenous beliefs, they find themselves as an endangered species.
The tribal way of life is essentially pagan with its intimacy to nature. The forests, wild animals, rainfall and the earth are the mainsprings of the tribal way of life.A tribal has few needs except a sense of community, freedom and happiness!

a new social order

These are revolutionary times-when old conventions and notions are being challenged by a few bold spirits and new concepts are emerging.Everywhere one can find signs of revival of the spirit of learning, aesthetics, mystery and freedom.
People are realizing that the trappings of material affluence are in fact stifling the best in a person and have become oppressive.
The future is still elusive like the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. However it is certain that the new age will have two classes-the learned and the ignorant.Knowledge will be the key asset in policy making.A small minority comprising of the strong, courageous, disciplined and righteous people shall dominate events while the rest will be forced to submit to them.

a casual approach

These days a lot of people are so preoccupied with details that they have no time to enjoy life.Appointments, meetings, deadlines and achieving targets have become the raison de etre of life everywhere.Such an approach puts enormous strain on relationships, health and society in general. The huam psyche is incapable of functioning in a vacuum without emotional sustenance from others including animals and plants.
Reading, music, dance, theatre, good cuisine, gardens, lakes, art galleries, sports stadiums and museums have to be made a part of our life to relax and learn new ideas.
Good communication skills are extremely important for building strong relationships.Mutual respect, openness, sense of humour, patience, goodwill and humility are essential qualities in any relationship.Without strong personal ties,no community can prosper or remain secure.
Instead of a narrow and specialised approach,a casual, open and friendly approach can lead to a healthier and happier community.

symbollism

All communities have their unique symbols to distinguish them from others.Unfoprtunately, people are ignoring the relevence of symbols in life.Symbols representing animals, flowers, sun, wind, earth, oceans, strength, unity and learning can significantly enrich our daily life.
India has a rich tradition of symbollism though today their significance has been lost sight of.Ganesha,Durga,Laxmi,Cobra,Peacock,Rangoli,Sun,flowers and musical instruments were powerful symbols which made the ancient Indian culture a unique one.The ancient Greek,Egyptian,Aztec and Chinese civilizations had their own symbols which people could relate to.
The Art of Syumbollism needs to be re-invented and presented in a contemporary manner to represent themes like unity, equality, friendship, diversity, prosperity and peace.

cause for concern

The gap between the number of men and women world wide has risen to 50 million ie almost 7% of the total population. If this trend continues,it could have serious demographic consequences.China and India are the main culprits with their bias against the female child.Selective abortion and female infanticide are common practices.
World wide, the bargaining power of women is much less as compared to men.Even in the progressive and affluent Western world, women have been unable to carve out an identity for themselves and have been forced to adopt stereotypes.
Unless women become more conscious about their uniqueness,it will be extremely difficult to build a more humane and open society.

animal farm

On a farm, there were many cows, ducks, dogs, cats, geese, hens, turkeys, sheep, horses and pigs. The farm was owned by Mr.Right and his wife Mary, who worked extremely hard to grow different crops, vegetables and fruits and also took good care of the animals.Mr.Right used the manure of the animals to fertilise the soil and was rewarded with a favourable climate and a good yield.Besides the land produce,Mr.Right also sold eggs and milk for a good price.Mr.Right and Mary were extremely happy band hard working couple, who also helped the poor and the needy in times of need.
As time passed, the animals started becoming smarter and the pigs, who were the laziest among the lot, started instigating the other animals to stop cooperating with the farmer.Initially, the other animals were reluctant but the pigs because of their overwhelming majority, won the day.Gradually, the quantity of milk and eggs started going down and finally ceased all together. The farmer was absolutely puzzled by this phenomenon, but could not do anything. As his revenues dwindled, the farm soon went into liquidation and M
r,Right and Mary were reduced to penury.
Since the animals had all along been dependent on Mr.Right, they too started becoming weak and many of them perished except the pigs who could survive on garbage.
Soon all the animals died and the pigs became the owners of what was once a bountiful farm.

indo-china ties

It is now time to take the Indo-China relationship to a higher level. The two Asian giants should evolve an united strategy for addressing issues like poverty, food security, terrorism, education and tourism.
India and China are ancient civilizations and must find common ground to strengthen the relationship. Both can gain by appreciating each others position on different issues and respecting each's point of view.
People to people relations are the key to a stable and healthy relationship. It may not be a bad idea to involve others with different perspectives but sharing the same objectives.
Collaboration in sports, music, dance, cinema and literature can also enrich the relationship.

facebook

FB has a flip side which people are unaware of.Increasing the number of 'friends' is to become vulnerable to confusion and depression since thoughts are as contagious as any virus!Parents have to be watchful that children do not develop anti-social tendencies.
It is extremely important to be selective and cautious while using FB. It is more beneficial to have few friends but meaningful relationships. As long as one is focused and sure about the destination,FB can be extremely useful.
Mass use of FB has made it cheap and obscene hence constant efforts have to be made to keep the spirit of the medium intact.
The tech wizards sitting in Menlo Park have to make sure that commercial considerations do not stifle creative freedom.

reinventing the mobile

The mobile technology is obsolete and inappropriate for meeting the present needs. It needs to be simplified and made suitable for a dynamic environment.
It is necessary to incorporate environments and health considerations along with the communication aspect. The present band width and frequencies in use are extremely dangerous and can cause brain and organ damage.Even the push button method and the numeral approach is regressive and fragmented.
If the phonetics aspect whereby spoken commands can be introduced into the mobile design,it could go a long way in reducing the stress and other health issues.A uniform style in design is also self-defeating and leads to mechanisation and unipolarity.Complex situations require imaginative and innovative solutions to prevent the murder of the creative spirit.

the chowkidar

After independence,Chowkidars were Gurkhas from Nepal who patrolled the streets of Delhi at night. They were a common feature in all the colonies of Delhi.Armed with a stick and whistle they would be guarding the streets of Delhi at night. The local residents paid them a fixed amount every month. At any time of the night, the sound of the stick and whistle could be heard.Till the seventies, thefts were few and far between due to the presence of the Chowkidar.
Today, despite a highly equipped police force, crime rates are soaring across India.

kite photography

'Throw your dreams into space like a kite, and you do not know what it will bring back,a new life,a new friend,a new love,a new country.'Anais Nin
Kite photography employs the use of kites to take pictures. An electronic camera is attached to a specially designed kite which is then sent into the sky.The photographer adjust the kite at the desired altitude and at the precise adjustment of light and image, clicks the camera!
The spirit of a place can be best captured with kite photography.

gauguin 1848-1903

Paul Gauguin,a contemporary of Vincent van gogh, was a painter belonging to the Impressionist school of Art.He was deeply inspired by the works of Giotto,Raphel and Ingress, artists of an earlier age.
Gauguin,an exceptionally talented artist, was thoroughly disillusioned with the prevailing European culture, and escaped to Tahiti,an island in the Pacific, where the local people lived an uncomplicated life and needs were few.The islanders were used to living bare-bodied and in simple hutments made of locally available materials.
Gauguin,a passionate person, lived a life of indulgence and sensual gratification but produced excellent paintings portraying the innocence and beauty of the people.
