churchill and roosevelt

As the European armies surrendered one after the other to the Nazis due to their policies of appeasment,Churchill appealed  to Roosevelt to send in American troops to Europe in the cause of liberty and progress.America continued to remain ambivalent and in fact aided Germany and only after the bombing of Pearl Harbour by the Japanese,that it sent in its troops to Europe.
After the Allied victory,FDR sent in huge amounts of funds,men and equipment for the reconstruction of Europe under the Marshall plan.
Both Churchill and Roosevelt were strong,determined and purposeful men and believed in a world based on democratic values and progress of mankind.
