helen keller

Helen Keller was born in Northern Alabama in1882.When she was 18 months old she contracted scarlet fever which left her blind and deaf and subsequently mute.Undaunted and with the help of her teacher Miss Sullivan,Helen soon acquired mastery over English,French,German,Greek and latin by reading classics in Braille. She also taught herself to type and would write short stories in English while at school.
Due to happy family circumstances,Helen was able to travel all over the US while a child and she gained a lot by meeting people like Dr.Alexander Graham Bell and Mark Twain.
Even as a child, helen had enormous self-belief and an acute sense of righteous conduct. She would meticulously study her books and refrain from speaking any falsehood. At the age of 22 she wrote her life -story which soon became a best-seller.
Helen Keller's life is a shining example of how  aperson can prevail over over the most adverse circumstances by sticking to the path of truth.
