'Life
of Pi' is the story of a boy who becomes a man.Pi is a sweet little boy born in a small town(Pondicherry) in India.His father is a successful businessman as well as a zoo owner,who has total faith in logic and reason and discourages Pi from believing in God while his Mother is a devout person.Pi is caught between the two but is influenced more by his father.
From being a shy and timid person dominated by his father Pi evolves into a brave,independent,purposeful and determined person.He looses his entire family and the girl he loves but befriends a Tiger who brings out the best in him.
The Tiger teaches him never to be intimidated by circumstances but prevail over them by being true to himself.Their bond is so intimate that it is difficult to distinguish between the two.Ship-wrecked at sea,against overwhelming odds,Pi reaches the shores safely along with The Tiger.
The Tiger leaves Pi once he realizes that Pi has become like himself and does not need his help any longer.
A beautiful movie which explores all the contradictions and dilemmas of human existence.
