semantics

'A casual word lets loose vast agencies' Sri Aurobindo
Semantics is the study of languages and how they have evolved. The word has tremendous power and can unleash havoc and destruction if used in an inappropriate manner.
Most people do not know the art of speaking and create confusion and fear in the minds of the listener. In the present times, the media-electronic and print is causing tremendous damage due to inappropriate language.the news readers appear tired and listless and the endless discussions and debates leave a bitter taste in the viewers. It is the responsibility of the media to present an unbiased, objective and fair picture to the viewers, uninfluenced by extraneous considerations.
A child is able to express himself best in his mother-tongue.Till the age of 7,the medium of instruction should be The Mother tongue after which he can be taught other languages. The child should be encouraged to read books by eminent persons writing in the Mother-tongue.He should also be encouraged to write well. The role of The Mother is extremely important in teaching the language to the child. She has to be adept in all the nuances and rhythms of the language.Music also plays an important role in the evolution of the language.Simple and rhythmic words leave a lasting impression while complicated words lead to confusion.
