'Gunday' is a hindi movie about two street urchins shunned by everyone,who decide to become gangstres to survive in a heartless world.
Both are street smart with extremely strong loyalties and charmimg innocence but determined to come on top.Soon they become the undisputed bosses of Calcutta underworld. They resort to murder,extortion and dacoity to become the masters of the game.
Eventually a police officer and his lady colleague decide to set a trap for them.The lady officer pretends to be a cabaret artiste and suceeds the two youth who fall in love.Their partnership breaks in a moment of passion,when one of them tries to shoot the other and insteads shoots a bystander.He is forced to flee for his life.The girl then seduces  the other guy and gradually the hunters become the hunted!
It is an extremely realistic film about the brute reality which deprives children of their childhood and forces them to become ruthless criminals to live a life of dignity.

The message is loud and clear-it is preferable to take to the gun rather than suffer indignities and humiliation!
