poverty in india

Poverty in India is multi-dimensional-material,intellectual,moral,cultural and above all spiritual. India which was once the light house to the world lies sunk in the depths of ignorance, superstition, pettiness and immorality. Everyone's motto is 'To make hay, while the sun shines!'.
The Gita says 'What the best will do,others will follow'. Our learned(sic) PM extolls the virtues of British rule while addressing students in Oxford. His entire cabinet comprises of folks whose only achievement has been robbing the state! The leader of the ruling party,an Italian lady, whose only achievement in life has been to have married a former PM. Her half-wit son portrays himself as a philosopher-statesman without having a single academic distinction in life. The President goes about delivering sermons while hesitating to take action against the erring ministers. The last 66 years of Independence has been a story of missed opportunities and following a path to bankruptcy and ruin.
Our intellegentia, most of them foreign qualified, are content to wear the discarded rags of the West and can be bought a dime a dozen!
The masses who still believe in 'mai-baap sarkar' go to bed half-starved and half-naked. The only hope for India is a mass upsurge which will shake the corridors of power!
