'No new creation is possible without spiritual values' Sri Aurobindo
The worst casuality in the past century has been the human being. While material comforts have increased manifold everywhere, the quality of life has taken a beating.Life-expectancy may have increased due to modern medicine, but the number of people dying due to epidemics, wars, accidents, starvation and life-style diseases has increased.Everywhere people are in the grip of a fear-psychosis.
The Roman civilization was at its peak in terms of its riches when it perished due to invasion by barbarians. The modern commercial age is a kind of barbarism with its exaggerated emphasis on economic development.History has proved beyond doubt that when any species stops evolving,it perishes.Today the human species is under threat of extinction due to hostile influences all around.Everywhere one sees blank faces and tired bodies.
Music and art have always been the sign-posts of progress and today there is no sight of them.In this jet-age,people have simply forgotten the'Art of living'.Life has become an unending pursuit of sensual gratification.Patience,restraint,self-discipline,excellence,moral values and love have vanished from the lexicon.
The choice is imperative-evolve or perish.
