Accountability is the first principle of 'Rule of Law!'.In India today, a major problem is lack of accountability! The PM, with his holier than thou attitude is refusing to step down despite the scams,price rise,gender-violence,breakdown of law&order,rising inequalities,growing unemployment,unhappy centre-state relationship and discord! His example is being followed at all levels.
The Judiciary has been crying itself hoarse that without accountabilty,the whole constitutional edifice has become shaky. Commissions of enquiry are appointed-they take ages to submit their reports,which later gather dust. No one remembers The Bhopal tragedy, 1984 riots,plane crash at Mangalore, Nuclear leaks,Mumbai attacks,Babri demolition,Gujrat riots etc. These are all events involving massive loss of life! Our leaders are only good at sermonizing.
It is time to change the 'chalta hai' culture prevailing in India. Let a few heads roll!
