Mr. Sharad Pawar,Union Agriculture Minister was honest enough to admit that he has never witnessed such a severe drought in his life-time! Vidarbha,Marathwada,Khandesh and parts of western Maharashtra are reeling under water scarcity and crop-failure. The MPS&MLAs of the ruling front,oblivious of the grim situation,are throwing lavish parties with liquor and meat!'Nero is fiddling,while Rome is burning!' The situation is the same in AP. farmers are committing suicide by the hour! Our PM's example' see no evil.speak no evil.hear no evil!' is being followed at all levels. The PM,a saintly person, is busy contemplating his navel,while the country is going to the dogs!
The Planning Commission,headed by Mr. Montek Ahluwalia,educated at Oxford and Harvard, is of the opinion that a person earning more than Rs.32 per day does not fall in the BPL criteria! He recently spent Rs.25 crores on office renovation! The solution-FDI in retail will improve lot of farmers. Glory, hallelujah!
The neglect of Agriculture is appalling at all levels. Without a drastic change in the mindset at the top,the lot of farmers will continue to deteriorate!
