We,Indians of all hues and colors,are good at making eloquent speeches but poor when it comes to acting on them! "The world is deafened by useless words!" The Mother. The Speaker has to continuously remind the members to be brief.
In the US Supreme Court,the lawyers are permitted 30 minutes each to conclude their arguments. In India even 30 hours are not enough! Our court judgments run into hundreds of pages which only the lawyers and judges can understand. It is a simple truth that the longer the judgment,the more the chances of acquittal in appeal!
'Double speak,triple think' has become a national trait. Hypocrisy and chicanery are the order of the day.
