Destruction of a toll post at Thane by an irate mob, suicide(murder?) by an accused in Tihar jail, bomb explosions in Hyderabad, frequent gang rapes, murder of a police officer in UP, abusive language used by politicians and instigating communal discord and utter helplessness of the law and order enforcement agencies,all point to 'goonda raj' in India.
Our politicians are good at telling homilies in Parliament while blissfully remaining ignorant of the grim realities. All the state capitals are under the control of mafias who are cocking a snoop at the courts and police. The police are pre-occupied with guarding the VIPs(sic) while neglecting their more essential duties.
Let us all accept the bitter truth that India has today become a 'banana republic'! All our institutions have been rendered impotent due to excessive political interference.
If India is to take its rightful place in the world, an awakened citizenry is the need of the hour!
