proposed amendments in gender-violence laws

A few suggestions:-
1) Statistics show that societies and cultures which do not treat consensual sex as taboo have less incidents of gender violence. Scandinavia and many tribal societies have less incidents of gender violence.
2) Society should change its attitude towards unwed mothers. Children should be regarded as a social responsibility.
3) Sex-education should be a compulsory subject at school level.
4)Laws with regard to live-in relationships and same-sex marriages should be liberalized,
5)In India, girls should take a strong stand on dowry and refuse to marry boys who demand dowry.
6) Our existing legal system should be strengthened with suitable amendments in the CrPC,Evidence Act and IPC.
7)Uniform Civil Code should be implemented without delay.
8) Investigation in gender-violence cases should be done by women police officers.
9)Psychological,economic and social support should be provided to gender-violence victims.
10) Women should be encouraged to learn martial arts and self-defense tactics.
11) A radical change in family values is required with girls being given same opportunities as boys.
12) Schemes like creating a marriage fund for girls by the government should be popularized.
