The problem with India's development efforts since Independence has been a tendency to spread itself thin.Instead of concentrating on bringing prosperity for all,the Indian elite opted for European concepts which crippled the Indian psyche.
India's traditional strengths have been agriculture,cottage industries,textiles and its unique culture all of which have enormous employment generating potential.
It is now time to jettison the past and look boldly to the future.Trying to imitate China,US or japan will not solve our problems but will only aggravate our difficulties.
The Internet has made it possible to provide world-class know-how at the grass-roots.By bringing prosperity to the villages,it will give a philip to the other sectors also.People from all over the world are ready and willing to come and work with Indians,provided they are not embroiled in red-tape and corruption.
A strong work culture,discipline,cohesiveness and a scientific temper can transform India and its people.
